閘閥是指啟閉體(閘板)由閥桿帶動,沿閥座密封面作升降運行的閥門,可接通或截斷流體的信道。閘閥流動阻力小,啟閉省力,廣泛用于各種介質管道的啟閉。當閘閥部分開啟時,在閘板背后產生渦流,易引起閘板侵蝕和振動,也易損壞閥座的密封面,修理困難。因此,閘閥一般不作節流用。
